One of the new terms that I’ve discovered in my marketing class is brand equity. Brand equity is a measure of the brand’s ability to capture consumer preference and loyalty. In other words, a good brand always captures a consumer’s imagination in positive ways. When I was invited to review GUESS by Marciano for Men, I couldn’t say no. GUESS has always captured a positive response from me — I’m the owner of multiple pairs of GUESS jeans. For me, this lifestyle brand represents an upscale yet a casual lifestyle. GUESS by Marciano for Men captures this spirit.
GUESS with Parlux will be launching GUESS by Marciano for Men in the Spring of 2009. According to Paul Marciano, Chief Executive Officer of GUESS?, Inc., “This new fragrance continues to bring to mind what makes GUESS? A top international brand. Once again representing the company’s pioneering history GUESS by Marciano fragrance for men adds a fresh and unexpected twist to the traditional masculine persona.” The Chairman and CEO of Parlux Fragrances, Neil Katz, describes the GUESS by Marciano man as “modern and authentic, the GUESS by Marciano man knows what he wants. He’s confident. He’s an individual with attention-getting style.”
What do I think of GUESS by Marciano for Men? A few days ago, I asked a friend what he thought about GUESS’s newest cologne. He thought that it was natural. It would mix well with any man’s chemistry. I agree with my friend’s opinion. GUESS by Marciano is in the same category as Man by Calvin Klein and Hugo Boss’s newest cologne, Element. These colognes are intelligently designed – mass appeal yet have a niche element to them. In other words, GUESS by Marciano is a unique and sophisticated cologne that can be worn anytime by anyone. Personally, I’ve worn this fragrance for over a week, and I can’t stop spraying it on myself. It works well with my natural body oils day and night. Thank you Parlux and GUESS for making this wonderful cologne.
What are the elements of GUESS by Marciano for Men? This fragrance has a similar beginning as Gucci Pour Homme yet it is more subtle. It has a citrus and spicy beginning. Its top notes are Frozen Ginger Mandarin, Iced Tonic Freshness and Fresh Black Pepper. The heart of this fragrance is Wet Violet Leaf, Star Fruit, Neroli Petals, Fresh Sage, Lavender and Rosemary. These notes make the fragrance more richer. Finally, GUESS by Marciano dries down to Soft Leather, Patchouli Bud, Ebony, Amber and Skin Musk notes. The base notes creates a sensual lingering scent on any man’s body.
The collection for GUESS by Marciano for Men will include a 3.4 oz Eau de Toilette Spray for $60.00, a 1.7 oz Eau de Toilette spray for $47.00, hair and body lotion for $23.00 and a 2.5 oz alcohol free deodorant stick for $19.00. It will be available at fine department stores and GUESS retail locations. I highly recommend this fragrance for all authentic men who value individualism.
